From: Tim Riordan [timr@rbmktg.com] Hi Mike, Seems strange that we did not receive your letter since it was mailed over a week ago. I would first like to ask if you or anyone on the parking committee has visited our street? I believe our situation is unique in the village and would require a visit to our street to see exactly why we are asking for this variance. This is a street that when parked on, any car going around the parked car must leave the road to get around the parked car. The street is approximately 13 feet wide. Most of us residents don't really need the parking variance except for the weekends when we have visitors to our homes. Parking on the street does allow regular cars let alone delivery trucks (UPS/Fed-X) adequate room to pass the parked cars without driving on the unimproved space. Also, since this is a dead end street, this poses the added problem of cars trying to back into driveways or the unimproved space to turn around. UPS or Fed-X delivery is almost an everyday occurrence since two of the homeowners on this street work from their homes. Additionally, I am afraid to park my vehicle on the street for fear it will be sideswiped by a driver unfamiliar with the area. Maybe a compromise can be reached so we can have our friends, family and visitors to our homes park out of harms way and allow vehicles to pass safely. Always up for a cup of coffee and to discuss additionally ways to improve the area I live in. Thank you for your consideration Tim Riordan |
